The lower divisions match the upper divisions for each Conference with a few exceptions. In order to make the numbers work, the ECC donates Buffalo to the MEC. The MEC offers WKU, WMU, Memphis and S. Alabama to the GPC. This solution provides each conference lower division with 16 teams.
THE BIG WEST CONFERENCE
The BWC lower division includes a number of historically strong programs like Boise St., San Diego St., and Nevada.
BIG WEST LOWER DIVISION
THE GOLD PLAINS CONFERNCE
To make numbers work, the GPC picks up WKU, WMU, Memphis and S. Alabama from the MEC.
GOLD PLAINS LOWER DIVISION
THE MID-EAST CONFERENCE
Cincinnati is the recent and most dominant headliner in the MEC lower division.
MID-EAST LOWER DIVISION
THE EAST COAST CONFERENCE
UCF, Liberty, Coastal Carolina and giant killers App. State and ECU give the ECC lower division a strong top end.
EAST COAST UPPER DIVISION

Looking at these lower divisions gets us hyped up for how incredible relegation could be. More than a handful of these teams deserve a shot at promoting into the upper divisions.
And their eagerness should put every midling upper division program on high alert.
